Verizon [VZ] have made the DROID Incredible official by way of a press release. The press release confirms all the details we have already seen such as the Android 2.1 operating system from Google [GOOG] along with a 3.7 inch AMOLED screen and a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU.
The press release also confirms the April 29 release date with an on-contract price tag of $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate.
The phone it’s self is said to have seamless integration with Exchange ActiveSync and as it’s an Android 2.1 based smartphone, it also gives access to the Google Market Place where you can download from a library of 30,000 apps.
Other features include an 8 megapixel camera. The user interface is HTC Sense giving an excellent user experience for those using the device. Seven home screen panels are used on the device with a service called “Leap” that allows you to quickly flick between any of the panels.
The 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED screen is capacitive touch and has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. An optical joystick can be found for navigation through the phones menu systems.
Pre-orders are starting on April 19 for a launch on April 29. The contracts start at $39.99 per month along with a dataplan that costs $29.99/month for unlimited web access.
