Pictures of the HTC Edge have been found. The Edge is likely to be the first smartphone in the world that runs a quad-core processor. Other technical speaks (leaked of course) show that it has a 4.7 inch screen. The device will be just over 10mm thick.
It will probably have an 8 megapixel sensor with a 28mm f/2.2 lens although reports hint that it will capture at 720p rather than full HD 1080p.
The quad-core processor is likely to be the AP30 Tegra 3 from NVIDIA which is clocked at 1.5GHz. It is expected to also have 32GB of internal storage. Rumours of Beats Audio have been suggested along with Bluetooth 4.0.
For connectivity, there’s only mention of HSDPA at 21Mbps with no mention of LTE. We assume wireless and GPS as well as the other regular sensors will be built in which includes proximity and perhaps a gyro and compass.
As for the HTC Edge release date, hints at Q1 and Q2 in 2012 have been suggested but not much is known about the device from official sources. We expect that it will run Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich though.
