The HTC Explorer (Pico) is designed for the more casual user. The device will likely fall in to the budget range of phones when it launches.
PocketNow managed to get hold of one of the first press shots of the device. Although not the slimmest looking device, it is relatively small with a 3.2 inch HVGA screen. It has 384MB ROM and 512MB RAM. The processor is expected to be clocked at about 600MHz although this hasn’t been confirmed yet. Other features include a five megapixel camera on the back. It will use HTC Sense 3.5 when it launches which might mean buyers qualify for the 5GB Dropbox deal.
The HTC Explorer will run Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread when it launches. It is expected to be almost (or probably) free when signing up for a 2 year contract. Full details should be announced in the next few days.
