Verizon have just announced that the HTC Imagio will be launching at the same time as Windows Mobile 6.5.
The HTC Imagio has a 3.6 inch screen that is capable of a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Inside it has a 528MHz processor, WiFi at 802.11b/g speeds as well as Quadband GSM at 850/900/1800/1900 + 2100 HSPA along with 3G compatibility also.
The camera has a 5 megapixel sensor and also has autofocus. The phone will use TouchFLO 3D installed on top of Windows Phone.
MobileCrunch managed to get some time with the phone recently and apart from the basketball style dotted texture around the edge, they quite liked it.
The phone is the first smartphone that will support Verizon’s V CAST TV system. This allows users to stream TV content from various networks such as FOX, Nick, The food network and ESPN. Flipping channels is done with a side swiping motion and apparently quality is also quite good too. The downside is that the service will cost you $15 extra per month to utilize, so that might put people off a little.
The HTC Imagio will cost $199 when launched – after a mail in rebate (on a 2 year contract) and will be available at Verizon.
