As well as announcing the HTC Flyer tablet as well as the ChaCha and Salsa smartphones, HTC has announced three other smartphones called the HTC Incredible S, HTC Wildfire S and the HTC Desire S.
The HTC Incredible S is pictured above and is a GSM device designed for the European market. It has an 8 megapixel camera on the back. The screen measures 4 inches and is a WVGA Super LCD screen. A front facing VGA camera is also included on the Incredible S. This particular smartphone will also be made available in Q2 although we see it will come with Android 2.2 rather than 2.4 like the other devices mentioned earlier. HTC does promise an update to 2.4 shortly after the phone launches.
The HTC Wildfire S, pictured just above, is designed to be an entry-level smartphone. This model will run the latest Android 2.4 update. The screen has been updated to a higher resolution when compared to the previous Wildfire smartphone. The screen measures 3.2 inches and has a HVGA resolution. On the back is a 5 megapixel camera. The CPU runs at 600MHz and is a single-core Qualcomm chip. Wireless b/g/n is built in. As for a release date, this device is also being prepared for Q2 launch with prices not available just yet. We do hear it’s going to the Vodafone network in the UK though, but as far as we know that isn’t an exclusive.
Finally, we move on to the HTC Desire S which is an update to the previous Desire smartphone. The Desire S runs a 1GHz CPU (single-core Snapdragon) and has a 3.7 inch WVGA touchscreen. The operating system running on the HTC Desire S is the new Android 2.4.
A front facing camera is also found on this device as well as a rear facing camera. Although this particular device runs the latest Gingerbread OS, HTC opted not to use an NFC chip inside.
As with all other HTC devices, expect a Q2 launch. At the moment, prices are not known.
