HTC has filed for a trademark for a new device called the HTC Scribe. The name and specifications suggest that this particular device will be a tablet.
What we have heard about the HTC Scribe is that it will have 2GB of internal memory that can be expanded a further 32GB via a microSD card. It is rumored to have a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels with a size of about 10 inches. It isn’t clear at the moment if the screen will be capacitive or resistive.
As for the operating system, expect it to run Android Honeycomb which is now being numbered Android 2.4 rather than 3.0 like previous suggestions.
Pocket Now makes one final suggestion in saying that the “Scribe” name could suggest that an active stylus will be used on this device rather than just finger based touch only. HTC does have a capacitive stylus.
We will probably find out more at CES in the next few days.
