HTC has launched its first 4G smartphone on the AT&T network. The new device is the HTC Vivid which comes with Android 2.3.4 installed.
Other technical specs show that it has a Qualcomm APQ 8060 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It has 1GB of RAM along with 16GB of storage. The screen is in a qHD resolution of 540×960 pixels and measures 4.5 inches. It has a couple of cameras with a 1.3 megapixel one on the front for video calls along with a larger 8 megapixel one on the back that can capture video at 1080p. It isn’t clear what speed it captures at but we have seen some hints of up to 60 frames per second. This will likely be when you are not recording full HD.
For connectivity it can connect up to the LTE network and HSPA+ as well as the usual WiFi and Bluetooth. It also has GPS and an accelerometer.
The launch date is November 6 when it will cost $199.99 with a two year contract.
