Insignia have created a cheap digital media player that costs just 119.99 dollars. It has 2Gb of storage and can play music and video for 20 hours. There seems to be a lot crammed in to this player and looks like an excellent choice for those on a tighter budget. Transfer between the PC and the player runs at USB 2.0 speeds. Extra memory can be added via the microSD expansion slot. The player will play MP3 files and also, it supports many of the major formats.
The Insignia NS-DV2G can be purchased from bestbuy.com.

I got the 2 Gb yesterday and I absolutely love It. the buttons are fairly easy to use and the analog scroll wheel adds a nice touch. The screen is bright and easy to read. It also has two headphone jacks. One on the side and one on the bottom. the second one doubles as a microphone jack and antenna for the built-in tuner. The only downside is that you can’t record radio, but that may change with a firmware upgrade.
Thanks for the information. It’s good to hear that it rates well. Let us know if a future update does allow recording the radio.
Ok well I got this for christmas and I was told for the store that I could put MP3 formated songs on there. But when I went to go load it I was told that they had to specificaly be from Audible download songs. Is there any way I can get around this>
I would hope so. Let me go do some reading up about it and see what I can find.
Hello!
Well i got this GREAT! player about 2 weeks ago. and let me tell you, IT ROCKS! Its got way too many cool features and the price is definably GREAT! The screen is very sharp and bright, if you are thinking on getting an iPod, DONT! Instead, get this Insignia. It plays music, pictures, radio, and yes VIDEO! on its great 2.2″ LCD Screen. And You CAN record the radio, just hold the play button and the recording will begin. Well hope the info helps.
Juan, thanks for the review there! Do you know if it does support MP3 not from Audible download? I assume it does but cant find the info right now.
*first of all, sorry for my english cause i’m a frenchy guy from montreal and thanks for the understanding*
Well, I get mine 3 days ago and I realy love this product and all the great features and advantages of this media player.. Thanx a lot Juan for the radio recorder tip 😀
The only thing that I cannot do is to record with a simple computer microphone. But I can record when I use the line-out of my computer or other devices into the insigna mic-in 😉
For the price, the insigna NS-DV2G is from far the best media player that i’ve ever bought..
I wish to change the looking interface cause I find it really ordinary. I waana know if it will be possible to download some skins interfaces, plugins etc ??
Thanks for letting us know about your player gabine. I havent seen any plugins or interfaces yet for it, but I will keep looking out and post back if I do find any.
DOES IT PLAY ANY OTHER FORMATS BESIDES MP3?

Has anyone found a way to create and save playlists on this device? It is the only thing that I do not like about this player; the fact that I cannot save my playlists. Other than that I love it. PLease, if anyone knows a way to create AND save playlists, email me [email protected]
Thank you,
