More details of the iPad 2 have leaked out in the last couple of days. This time, the rumors/leaks revolve around the screen, processor and the size of the tablet.
The first rumor hints at Apple opting for a 1.2GHz dual core processor. The processor will be the Cortex A9 and as well as having the dual core processor, hints at it having an Imagination Technologies SGX 543 dual core GPU have also been mentioned. We also hear that RAM will be bumped up to 512MB rather than the 256MB available on the current iPad.
We also hear that the screen will not be higher resolution like we previously have heard. This goes inline with what Daring Fireball mentioned a couple of weeks back in that a higher res screen is coming, but not in the iPad 2. Instead, we hear that the new screen will be thinner and will have an anti-reflective coating on top of it which will make the screen more readable in sunlight. The thinner screen could also make the whole iPad thinner by shaving off a few mm’s.
Unfortunately, the source is difficult to track so right now, we could be looking at best guess information rather than what is actually happening.
