Apple [AAPL] has finally released details about the launch of the iPad 2 including times and where you’ll be able to pick one up tomorrow.
The iPad 2 will go on sale at 5pm in the US tomorrow (local time) and will allow buyers to pick one up in one of 236 Apple stores found in the US. For those ordering online, Apple is making them available at 1am PT for those who want one to pre-order. It seems if you want to get one by tomorrow, you’ll need to queue.
Prices have previously been revealed in the US and these see the cheapest model selling for $499 which comes in the WiFi only version with 16GB of storage. The next two models up put the price up to $599 and $699 for the 32GB and 64GB models respectively. As for the 3G models, prices here start at $629 and move to $729 and $829 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models.
Various iPad 2 reviews have been favorable in that they say Apple has done a good job although the cameras lack on still photography. However, in general they expect to see the new version to sell well. For original iPad owners, you’ll need to see if the cameras and faster CPU are enough to tempt you over. Of course, there’s the fancy covers with this model and it’s also slimmer and lighter, but for those with the regular iPad, you don’t miss out on too much with this model.
