Recently, Orange hinted that it will be selling a subsidized iPad. The Three network has now joined in on the game and will also be subsidizing an iPad in the UK.
What that essentially means is that you’ll pay less up front for the iPad, but will also be committed to an 18 or 24 month data plan with a higher price per month to make up the cost over the term of the contract.
Three UK today announced it will offer new purchase options for iPad users, including more affordable prices when purchased with a data service plan, for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G models in the coming months.
Right now, we have had no indication about what those prices and contracts will be, but expect a few hundred pounds to be knocked off the price at perhaps £30/month at a very rough guess… ie, don’t go quoting me on that.
Out of all the five major networks in the UK, Three in the past has had some pretty good deals when it comes to subsidizing mobile devices. As well as offering good prices they often are the generous ones with the amount of data they allow… in other words it might be worth you watching out over the next few weeks or months to see what Three offer.
