Apple [AAPL] launched the iPhone 4 just a few weeks ago in five countries with promise of more countries getting it in the near future. It seems that the next list of countries is getting closer as Movistar in Spain has indicated that the iPhone 4 will be available on it’s network on Wednesday July 28.
The information comes from a series of tweets sent out from the official Movistar twitter account.
It isn’t 100% certain that the release date is set in stone as Apple are the ones who will make the official announcement. But we suspect by this time next week, if the tweets are true, that those in Spain will be able to pre-order the iPhone 4.
The other problem that might occur is a lack of stock which we have seen in the UK as well as other launch countries which might prevent Movistar actually getting anything to sell on the day of launch.
The five countries who have the iPhone 4 already include the UK, US, France, Germany and Japan. Apple announced recently that 18 countries would follow by the end of July although this “might” get pushed back in a similar way to the iPad did with the successful launch that the iPhone 4 had.
We’ll keep an eye out for the official press release from Apple that will either announce a launch date in July or a 1 month delay.
