iFixit now has an iPhone 4S and has begun taking it apart to check and confirm exactly what is inside of it. We’ve seen various official pictures from Apple that show the A5 processor and battery but other than that we don’t know the exact chips which should reveal a few more details about the inner workings of the device.
The teardown has only just begun at iFixit so at the moment there aren’t too many details available. Over the next few hours they should start publishing more pictures along with more details about what exact chips can be found inside the device. For now, follow along at iFixit to see where they are at with the teardown.
The company also starts off with an entertaining opening:
iFixit: “Siri, may we disassemble you for all to see?”
iPhone 4S (Siri): “42”
iFixit: “I didn’t ask for the meaning of life, Siri…”
iPhone 4S (Siri): “42 is the number of seconds you have left until I initiate the self-destruct sequence…”
iFixit: “Message received.”
