When Apple [AAPL] announces a new iPhone or iPad, it holds the event in San Francisco. This time around it will be different though as Tim Cook will be holding the event on the Apple campus in Cupertino, California.
The reasons for the move are not known and will probably not be given but AllThingsD says it could be a number of things such as the launch date not been finalised and being unable to book the YBCA as usual. Also, Apple might be wanting to keep the first Tim Cook launch on site rather than away from home.
Either way, we should be seeing invites sent out soon.
