A company based in Tokyo named OTAS have created a battery for the iPhone which comes supplied with an attached solar panel.
The lithium-ion battery is compatible with the iPhone 3G and comes housed in a leather case. When placed under the sun the battery takes about 13 hours to charge compared to USB mini connection which would normally take about 3.
The LC-1500 (maybe 1500mAh?) measures 125x64x25mm and weighs 100 grams. It costs $60 but seems to only be available in Japen.
