The iWork suite of apps have always been available for iPad owners, but never for iPhone or iPod touch users. This has now changed as Apple has finally released versions of the apps that are compatible with both the iPhone and iPod touch.
The new versions went live in the App Store yesterday when the familiar + sign was added to the app which means the single apps are compatible with both the large and smaller screened devices.
“Now you can use Keynote, Pages and Numbers on iPhone and iPod touch to create amazing presentations, documents and spreadsheets right in the palm of your hand,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “The incredible Retina display, revolutionary Multi-Touch interface and our powerful software make it easy to create, edit, organize and share all of your documents from iPhone 4 or iPod touch.”
If you have already purchased the apps on the iPad then you can grab the downloads now on your iPhone or iPod touch. If not, the prices are $9.99 for each of the three apps.
GearLive reports that Apple had intentions to launch these next week at WWDC but that they might have run out of time to announce them due to iOS 5, Lion and iCloud all scheduled to be announced.
