Engadget managed to get hold of some pictures showing an upcoming LG smartphone. The new device has a dual-core Tegra 2 chip inside along with the ability to capture 1080p video thanks to its 8 megapixel camera.
The screen on the new LG device measures 4 inches.
The codename for the smartphone is the LG Star although the actual name is not known just yet. We expect that when this one launches (rumoured for Q1 2011), that it will run the latest Gingerbread Android 2.3 operating system although it could be 2.2.
We also hear that the Android 2.3 (or 2.2) install will be fairly standard and untouched making it closer to Android rather than having a unique UI over the top.
Other features spotted on this device include a front facing camera.
We’ll keep an eye out for details on this one and let you know when we find out more.
