LG are launching a new phone that comes with a detachable QWERTY keyboard. The LG Versa will be made available on the Verizon network in the US on March 1st 2009.
The LG Versa has a 3 inch 480×240 touchscreen. An interesting and very unique feature is that it comes with a detachable QWERTY keyboard. The detachable keyboard is included in the case and when the phone is attached to the case it can then be used with the keyboard.
The touchscreen measures 3 inches and has a resolution of 480 x 240 pixels. On the connectivity side the phone has Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and EVDO. A smaller OLED screen is to be found on the outside that measures just short of an inch diagonal at 0.94″ and has a resolution of 56 x 120 pixels. This screen is surprisingly monochrome although it is just used for Caller ID and displaying things such as the time and signal strength.
A 2 megapixel camera is included which comes with a flash and autofocus. A picture editor is also included allowing you to make small tweaks to images shown.
Although the price on Verizon is $199 that is with the rebate (actual price $249.99).
