Apple [AAPL] could be updating the MacBook Air this year. We are hearing that Apple could be shrinking down the 13.3 inch screen down to 11.6 inches putting it closer to netbook territory. We also hear that a new low-voltage Core processor could be added along with a new GPU.
As well as shrinking the screen and switching the CPU and GPU we also hear that the SSD might be replaced with a larger capacity model.
We also hear that the new MacBook Air will be thinner and lighter than the previous model. With it having a smaller 11.6 inch screen, the lighter part we can see. In regards to the thinner part, it will be interesting to see how thin they can make the thing.
No official information has been provided on these details, so until Apple make an announcement it’s just speculation at the moment. What we are expecting though is an update to the MacBook Air as it’s a little overdue now.
