The Motorola Defy+ is the next update to the original Motorola Defy. The + adds a few new features to the popular smartphone. The Defy+ was first announced when Google announced the acquisition of Motorola.
This new version will run the Android 2.3 operating system at launch and will also run a 1GHz processor, have a 5 megapixel camera and have a 3.7 inch display that is described as being “high-resolution”. For storage it will have 2GB.
One of the interesting features of this device is that Motorola has made it IP67 certified which means it is water resistant and dust proof. For dust, the rating means it is completely sealed against it. For water, the IP67 rating means it can handle up to 1m depths. To make it a little tougher, Motorola has also opted to use Gorilla Glass for the screen which provides plenty of protection against scratches.
We hear that the Defy+ will launch in several countries which includes Asia, Europe and Latin America. Pocket Lint was also told it will be coming to the UK September 2011.
