This Wednesday, Motorola is holding an event to reveal the next generation of DROID handsets. We expect that the Motorola DROID 2 will be one of these devices.
The DROID 2 has already been spotted a couple of times and has now been put through some benchmarking tests to see what it is capable of.
The DROID 2 has a 1GHz processor and runs Android 2.1. It also has twice the graphical processing power than the previous Motorola DROID.
With the 1GHz processor and 256MB of RAM (double what the DROID has) it is expected that the handset will be faster. Benchmarks also reveal it actually is double the speed of the previous version of the handset. Right now, it runs Android 2.1. When Android 2.2 is installed on to the device we expect that the performance will increase even more.
