The Motorola DROID 3 has appeared over on Howard Forums and reveals the new generation device along with a few cosmetic changes to the keyboard layout.
The DROID 2 had a 4 row layout on the QWERTY keyboard which means the top row doubled up with numbers which were accessed by the function button. What we see on the DROID 3 is that a fifth row of keys has been added which brings dedicated 1 to 9 and 0 numbers on the top row. This also allows for more symbols to be added to the function key such as a other financial symbols.
A few other differences are also seen such as the bottom part of the facing has a few minor adjustments. Some keen eyes on the forums also hint at HDMI being made available as can be seen on the edge of the device below the left arrow key.
We’ll need to see a few more details before making judgment on the device, but it does have potential to do well for Verizon, especially if it’s a significant update from the DROID 2 as well as running the latest Android 2.3 OS.
