The Nexus 7 has received some excellent reviews. One company, SonicElectronix, has now mounted a Nexus 7 in the dash of a Dodge Ram. We’ve seen the iPad mounted before in a car, but the 7 inch screen on the Nexus 7 seems to work so much better for in-car use.
The company custom built part of the dash so that the Nexus 7 could be dropped in to place. When installed, the tablet brings music, satellite navigation, video and games to the user.
With the Nexus 7 being about the same size as a double DIN receiver it fits in to various vehicles quite well. What makes the Nexus 7 more attractive is that it works quicker than other receivers that try add fancy features. The Nexus 7 is super fast, so works well for browsing through music collections. Also, as the custom dash section has a top opening section, the Nexus 7 doesn’t need to be stuck in your vehicle all the time. It can be easily removed.
