Nintendo announced just yesterday that 30 million Nintendo Wii consoles had sold in the US since launch. This number makes it the fastest selling console in the US by about 15 months.
Along with this information, we are now hearing that a Nintendo Wii 2 could be launching as early as next year. The current Nintendo Wii launched in 2006 which would give a gap of about 5 years between the old and the new games console. Upgraded features expected in the Wii 2 console include Blu-ray support and HD support.
It isn’t clear where the information has come from yet which is why we are inclined to believe Geeky Gadgets in saying that a Blu-ray player might not be included due to costs.
