Nokia has announced that the release date for the Nokia Lumia 800 is November 16 in the UK. The price is expected to be €420 although this hasn’t been confirmed yet. That of course is the SIM free price.
The new smartphone has been dubbed as Nokia’s “first real Windows Phone”.
What’s interesting to point out with the release date is that it comes a day before the Galaxy Nexus launches. The Galaxy Nexus is Samsung’s latest Android phone and will be the first device to run the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update.
Going back to the Lumia, we expect that it will do well for Nokia and Microsoft. Nokia has been lagging behind the competition in the smartphone arena for a while. With the shift to Windows Phone Mango, we expect some good things for Nokia ahead.
