Nokia and T-Mobile have officially announced the Nokia Nuron 5320 mobile phone. The handset will cost $69.99 and for that price you get a 3.2 inch touchscreen that has a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels in a 16:9 wide aspect ratio.
The Nokia Nuron is in a candybar form factor and connects to GSM/EDGE networks at 850, 900, 1800 or 1900 MHz as well as WCDMA at 1700/2100MHz.
A two megapixel camera is included and the software allows for 3X digital zoom as well as video recording. The phone has GPS built in and allows Ovi Maps navigation to function (Nokia’s new free navigation application).
Although not the nicest looking of phones that are being made available this year, it’s certainly at a good price. The exact date of launch for the Nokia Nuron has not been revealed just yet although it is expected to arrive within the next few weeks.
To get the phone at $69.99 it requires a rebate be claimed. If you want it off contract then the price is $179.
BGR point out that getting Ovi Maps Navigation device for less than $200 off contract actually isn’t a bad deal. Yes we know that the software is free, but you still need hardware to run it, and the Nuron is at a good price making it more accessible.
