The Nokia T7-00 was first spotted a few days ago when the name was spotted in a Symbian^3 file. The note made mention of the device as well as details of it having a 360×640 pixel display.
What we learn now is that the device will be very similar to the Nokia N8 in design and that it will carry an 8 megapixel camera (compared to the 12MP of the Nokia N8).
We also hear that pentaband 3G support is being removed and replaced with a TD-SCDMA standard that is commonly used in China.
It isn’t clear why the device got the T-Series naming as this is a completely new series of devices from the Finnish manufacturer. What we could be seeing with the T7-00 is a high-end device ready to tackle the Chinese market. By putting a smaller sensor in the device, it will lead to lower prices and give the Symbian^3 device a place for China.
Expect to hear more about the new T-Series over the coming weeks. As for these devices landing in the US/Europe and the UK, we are not sure yet as this particular variant seems to be adapted just for the Chinese market.
