O2/Telefonica has announced a new service that will allow smartphones to easily backup data to the cloud. The service is currently codenamed Frigo and is set to launch this coming Spring.
Frigo is compatible with several operating systems which includes Google Android, Symbian and Windows Phone 7.
“The real value offered by Frigo with regards to multi-platform is ‘all my stuff, anywhere, anytime’. The outcome for users will be true ownership of their apps and content through a personalised and consistent service that can be accessed and enjoyed on the device of their choice.”
By backing up data to the cloud, it will allow you to access it from anywhere on any device (or any compatible device we should say). Apps are backed up automatically to the service as well as data used within from our understanding.
Prices and exact dates are not known, but we do know it’s coming in the Spring.
