Here in the UK, the O2 network has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be launching in November. We have known this from other details posted previously, but now that a landing page has arrived it all seems a little more official.
On the landing page there’s no way to register interest in the device and all the page does is simply tell you that it’s arriving in November and shows a few specs/details and pictures of the device.
Pricing is not known at the moment, so any information on this is just speculation right now.
As for the device, it has a 4.65 inch HD AMOLED display. The screen is also contoured to follow the shape of the phone. The device will be the first in the world to sport the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. This brings a number of new features such as the ability to unlock your phone with facial recognition as well as the ability to beam data to other devices with NFC technology. These two features only scratch the surface of what Google [GOOG] has included in the new OS. More details about Ice Cream Sandwich can be found here.
Hopefully other networks will chime in with their details as most of them have now at least acknowledged that they will be shipping the device.
Although we don’t know network prices of the device, we have seen details of the unlocked version being launched on November 17 with a price tag of £514.80 for the 16GB model. We also hear that this is the only model being launched in the UK.
