Microsoft [MSFT] has launched Office 2011 for Mac. This new version updates the older 2008 version and brings a number of enhancements to make it better than before.
In a recent review of the software, Office for Mac 2011 was seen to have far better compatibility with the Windows version of Office. In past versions some of the functions of Spreadsheets didn’t copy over correctly. This new version seems to handle conversions a lot better, although still not perfectly.
One of the big new features is Outlook for Mac that was just launched in this suite. This is the first time Mac users have had the ability to use Outlook other than when running the Windows version in a VM.
Office for Mac 2011 is available from Amazon and Microsoft as well as other places.
