Getting Started Nexus 7 Tablet Videos Launched

Google [GOOG] has created a very basic “Getting Started” video for the new Nexus 7 tablet that launched recently. The video is as basic as it gets in that it shows you how to plug in your device, power it on and then walks you through the various setup menus which includes language selection and registering a new Google account or entering your own Google account details.

Rumours Indicate Apple Will Include a Dock Adapter for new iPhone

Yesterday we wrote that Apple is to do away with the 30 pin connector on the new iPhone and instead, will opt for a 19 pin (smaller) connector. The main reason for this appears to be a space saving exercise so that the few extra mm can be used for other chips such as LTE 4G etc…

Galaxy Nexus Drops to $99 on Verizon

The Galaxy Nexus on the Verizon network in the US has had a price drop taking it down to just $99.99 when you sign up for a two year contract. Reasons for the drop are not known although it could be a number of reasons such as the launch of the Galaxy S III taking away the sales or perhaps Verizon has information about Google preparing a next generation smartphone for launch in the near future.

Free App Downloads on iOS 6 Beta 3 Require No Password

Apple has made a few changes to the app store on iOS 6. As well as a new look, Apple also dumped the need for you to enter a password when downloading updates for apps. In the beta 3 version which launched last week, Apple also got rid of the need to enter a password when downloading a free app from the app store.

iPhone 5 Could get a Smaller Dock Connector

We’ve seen pictures before of the supposed iPhone 5 along with a smaller dock connector (see picture below), but now we are hearing even more hints that the regular 30 pin dock connector could be replaced with a smaller version taking up less space on the bottom of the device. As well as making a smaller dock connector, Apple could also be moving the 3.5mm headphone jack to the under side of the device.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Not Arriving on HTC Desire HD

HTC has confirmed in a statement that the Desire HD will not be getting an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. AppleCare Reps Get OS X Mountain Lion Early

Apple will be launching the next version of OS X Mountain Lion within the next week or so. Some are hinting that it could arrive this Wednesday. In preparation for the launch of the new operating system, it appears that Apple has been seeding the new version to AppleCare reps within the company. The reason for this will be so that they can become familiar with the operating system so that they can provide support on the day of launch.

iPhone 5 Production Rumoured to Have Started

Although Apple [AAPL] has yet to announce the iPhone 5, or indeed set a date for the announcement, rumours are now indicating that production of the next generation iPhone has just begun.

Launch dates for the new iPhone indicate that we might be seeing it sometime between August and October which is a given really considering the iPhone 4S launched last October and Apple typically launches 1 new smartphone each year.

Over 10 Million Samsung Galaxy SIII Smartphones Sold

In less than two months Samsung has sold over 10 million Galaxy SIII smartphones. The original prediction from the company hinted that they would reach 10 million units by August which means they are selling them quicker than first anticipated.

The information comes from the Samsung president who also commented that they expect to see over 40 million sales by the end of 2012.
