Facebook is reported to be creating its own image filters. The service appears to be similar to the likes of Instagram which allows users to apply a filter to uploaded images and by doing so, change the look of the photo.
The service is believed to be ready now although Mark Zuckerberg has held off the launch until the new service becomes more functional… ie, more filters are introduced.
On services such as Instagram, users can modify the look of pictures to add grain effects as well as change the saturation levels and make pictures look like Polaroid shots.
It isn’t known or confirmed at the moment when the new feature will launch on Facebook. The service will likely start with a number of users and then be rolled out to more if tests are successful. We’ll let you know if we hear more on this.
