Three new apps for the iPad are being launched by Adobe. The new apps are described as Photoshop companion apps and each allows you to work with the desktop version of Photoshop on the Mac.
The three apps are called Adobe Color Lava for Photoshop, Adobe Eazel for Photoshop and Adobe Nav for Photoshop. By connecting your iPad up to your computer via a WiFi connection you are given the ability to use Photoshop on the desktop in a more unique way.
Take Adobe Nav for Photoshop as one example. What this app does is allows the iPad to be used as a navigation tool for the desktop version. What you can see are the various windows on your iPad opened up as thumbnails. By tapping one, it switches what’s on the screen to what you selected.
The Color Lava app works as a digital palette of colors that you can mix together and then use the selected colors on your desktop.
Finally, the Eazel app uses an interesting UI that lets you use multi-touch to edit and create a picture. When finished, you can also beam the picture to the desktop version for further editing.
Overall, quite impressive. The pricing for the apps has been revealed at $1.99 to $4.99 and they will launch early in May 2011.
