Virgin launched a new iPad magazine last night. Called “Project” the magazine became available late last night. The app its self is free although there is a cost of $2.99/month to download the content.
Today, Virgin made the official announcement and in that event, also clarified a few things about the magazine and what they plan to do with it.
Sir Richard Branson took the stage and described Project as being the first all-digital magazine. The launch on iPad has already happened although it will also be landing on the iPhone soon. Also hints at an Android version have also been spotted today.
Content within Project will be changing constantly allowing you to grab updates throughout the month.
Rupert Murdoch is launching “The Daily” soon which was believed to be a competitor at first. Richard Branson said… “this is not a battle, not a war, but the future of publishing”. The Chief Editor went on to say… “We’re not similar … they’re a daily newspaper, we’re a monthly style magazine … we wish them nothing but luck.”
