RIMs senior business marketing VP has commented that the battery life on the PlayBook will either match or beat that of the Apple iPad.
The iPad battery life on the WiFi version is just over 10 hours with the 3G version following closely behind it. When the PlayBook was seen at CES with a 93% battery life it showed as having just 4 hours and 5 minutes remaining life left which indicates RIM needs to do a lot of optimizing to attain that goal.
Of course, by the time the PlayBook launches the iPad will be about a year old and a second version launching which in turn, could again beat RIM before the PlayBook has time to fully launch. We’ll have to wait and see what happens with the PlayBook and the iPad 2 in terms of how much hours of usage each provides.
