As well as confirming the white Galaxy S II today, Samsung has also confirmed the Samsung Galaxy R. The new smartphone is runs the Android 2.3 gingerbread operating system and has a 4.19 inch Super Clear LCD display. The resolution of the screen is 800 x 480 pixels.
Other features include a 5 megapixel camera on the rear and on the front, it has a 1.3 megapixel cam. The rear camera is capable of capturing video at 30 frames per second at a 720p HD resolution. It is capable of full 1080p playback at 30 frames per second.
The processor inside is not named but is described as a Dual Core Application processor which PocketNow describes as being a Tegra 2 chip clocked at 1GHz.
For connectivity it works at up to 21MBps on HSPA networks as well as HSUPA at 5.76MB. It also has Wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n and WiFi direct. Bluetooth 3.0 is also included as is a USB 2.0 connector for charging/data transfer.
For storage, it has 8GB of internal and can take an additional 32GB by a microSD card.
Pricing and launch details are not known at the moment, but we expect to launch in the next couple of months.
