Samsung Galaxy S II users are now beginning to get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. The update has begun rolling out in a few countries in Europe which includes Poland, Hungary as well as Sweden. Samsung is running the update cycle in stages starting with the three countries just mentioned and after that, it will spread further across Europe.
Update: Coming to the UK March 19.
The full update schedule for the S2 is unknown at the moment although we expect to see more countries get the update over the next few weeks. As for other Samsung Galaxy smartphones/tablets, no official details are known yet other than Samsung saying the updates are coming soon.
Devices lined up to get ICS include the “Galaxy Note, Galaxy SII LTE, Galaxy R, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, 7.7, 8.9, 8.9 LTE and 10.1”.
Although it has certainly not been a quick update for Galaxy class smartphone owners, it seems that the wait is finally coming to an end and that devices will be updated in the next month or so.
