Samsung has confirmed in a tweet that the Galaxy S II will be getting the latest version of Android which is 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich. What we don’t know at the moment is when SGSII owners will be getting the update.
It is likely that the UK and Europe will be the first to get Ice Cream Sandwich for the Galaxy S II. For those in the US who have the various different versions on different carriers, the update is expected to take longer. We believe this to be the case due to the delays that have been seen in the past on the Galaxy range of smartphones.
For those of you wondering about the Samsung Galaxy S getting Ice Cream Sandwich, nothing has been confirmed for the original yet. As it was quite a powerful smartphone (and still is), we believe it will get the update although cannot guarantee this of course.
