Although the Samsung Galaxy S2 has just launched in the US following behind the UK and others by a few months, we now are beginning to hear rumours about the next generation device… the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Some details leaked today on 4Chan are hinting that Samsung will put a quad-core 2GHz processor in the Galaxy S III. As well as getting a quad-core chip it will also get 1.5GB of RAM as well as 32GB of storage. The device is expected to get a Super AMOLED III display which measures 4.65 inches and has a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels. The pixel density on the screen will be 352PPI if it meets those technical specs. On the back will be a 10 megapixel camera that is capable of capturing at full HD 1080p at 60 frames per second.
The Galaxy SIII is expected to run Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich when it launches next year. It could also run the touchwiz 5.0 user interface. The battery is also believed to be 2250mAh.
No release date is known at the moment although based on the first two generation devices we can expect an announcement at Mobile World Conference along with a release date of sometime in the 2nd quarter (late) or early 3rd quarter of 2012.
As soon as we hear more details about the Galaxy SIII we’ll let you know.
