RIM [RIMM] and HTC have both responded somewhat in terms of what Steve Jobs said about the iPhone 4 antenna problems not being unique to the iPhone 4. Samsung is the next company to push out a statement by indicating that although their antenna is on the bottom left of the device, the antenna is sufficiently pushed inside the device to prevent a hand holding it to cause the signal to drop.
‘we have not received significant customer feedback on any signal reduction issue for the Omnia II. Based on years of experience of designing high quality phones, Samsung mobile phones employ an internal antenna design technology that optimizes reception quality for any type of hand-grip use.
Also the company said the following…
‘have fully conducted field tests and there are no reception problems and won’t be any in the future too. The antenna is located at the bottom of the Omnia 2 phone, while iPhone’s antenna is on the lower left side of the device. Our design keeps the distance between a hand and an antenna. We have fully conducted field tests before the rollout of smartphones. Reception problems have not happened so far, and there is no room for such problems to happen in the future.
