Windows Phone 7 has now been released to manufacturing by Microsoft [MSFT]. What this means is that smartphone manufacturers can start making the hardware that will run it in preparation for launch which is expected in the middle of next month.

There are several hardware manufacturers creating hardware for Windows Phone 7 such as Samsung, HTC, LG, Dell and ASUS. It is expected that each company will release a smartphone in preparation for launch.

LG C900 Windows Phone 7 on AT&T [T] Gets FCC Approval

The FCC has approved the LG C900 Windows Phone 7 smartphone for use on the AT&T [T] network.

The C900 is a landscape slider phone that has WCDMA bands II and V making it compatible with the AT&T network.

HTC T8788 Windows Phone 7 Heading to AT&T

The HTC T8788 is a Windows Phone 7 smartphone that is heading to AT&T [T] in the US. We can assume that the T8788 is just a prototype name and that a better name will be unveiled before it hits the shelves (perhaps the Tytn 4 – or whatever number we are at now).

The HTC Windows Phone 7 T8788 looks to be a slider phone although when sliding out the “keyboard” on the right of the device, it doesn’t reveal a keyboard. Instead a large speaker can be seen which indicates the phone is more of a media based smartphone than a new Tytn model. [Read more…]

Windows Phone 7, iPhone 4 and Nexus One Browser Speeds Compared

Pocket Now managed to get hold of an LG Panther Windows Phone 7 smartphone. The new smartphone is obviously pre-release as WP7 hasn’t launched yet. This means the hardware might not be final and the OS is certainly not final.

Just to see how Windows Phone 7 is shaping up it’s self though, Pocket Now decided to run some tests of browser speeds between the Windows Phone 7, Apple iPhone 4 and Google Nexus One to see which was the best of them all.

Each was running the latest OS available at the time. [Read more…]

LG E900 Windows Phone 7 Smartphone Spotted

We’ve seen a number of Windows Phone 7 devices over the last few weeks. Generally they run a basic Windows Phone 7 OS although one of the latest was seen slightly branded with an AT&T logo on a screen tile.

The latest to be captured by Mr BlurryCam is the LG E900. The LG E900 is similar to the LG C900 although this version lacks a slide out QWERTY keyboard.

It is expected that the LG E900 will be launched in Europe when the Windows Phone 7 launch day happens. [Read more…]

Samsung Cetus i917 Windows Phone 7 on AT&T Spotted

Engadget has scored a number of Windows Phone 7 and Android scoops through the night it seems. The latest is for the Samsung Cetus i917. The Cetus is another Windows Phone 7 smartphone.

It is described as being Pre-esque in shape. From what we understand, it will also be moving on to the AT&T [T] network. On the back of the device it is glossy, black and curved. The front has a 4 inch AMOLED screen. With the Cetus being Samsung built, it could well be the Super AMOLED screen that is also used on the Galaxy S for example. [Read more…]

LG C900 Windows Phone 7 with AT&T Carrier Branding Spotted

Another smartphone leak has been spotted. Earlier we caught a glimps of the T-Mobile G2. Now it’s time for the LG C900 Windows Phone 7 smartphone.

The LG C900 is a Windows Phone 7 device that has a slide out QWERTY keyboard. It is ideal for those who prefer not to use a virtual keyboard on the Cetus for example.

The device it’s self is quite rounded in features. It has the regular three buttons below the screen (a requirement from Microsoft [MSFT]), and looks to have a screen about 3.7 inches in size. [Read more…]

HTC Schubert – Windows Phone 7 Captured on Video

HTC has already said it will have a Windows Phone 7 smartphone available on or shortly after the release of Windows Phone 7. We don’t know the official date yet that Microsoft [MSFT] has set, but we suspect it’s coming up soon.

247windowsphone managed to get hold of the HTC Schubert which looks to be the first Windows Phone 7 based smartphone from HTC.

The device has a Nexus One look from what BGR point out, and looks to run Windows Phone 7 very well although the version on there won’t be the final version. We suspect it won’t look as minimalistic as seen in the video although reports do say it is quite a minimal approach in terms of graphics used. [Read more…]
