HTC HD2 – O2 Promotion Article Spotted

htc-hd2-o2The HTC HD2, formally known as the HTC Leo, is getting ready for it’s UK launch. The HD2 is known for having a large screen measuring 4.3 inches and it will run the Windows Phone operating system (Windows Mobile 6.5).

The printed promotional article showing the HTC HD2 was spotted in an O2 magazine and the timing of the printed article does seem to indicate that we could be looking at an October 12 launch which we mentioned before.

The new phone will feature TouchFLO 3D version 2.5 and will come preinstalled with Twitter support, Facebook support as well as other software to work around the who social networking scene. Multitouch is also said to be a feature on this phone and the usual pinch style zooming functions will be available on the phone.

The HTC HD2 has a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside along with 320MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM and a microSD slot to further increase storage capacity. [Read more…]

HTC HD2 – aka Leo, Launching October 12th

htc_leoWe hear today that the HTC HD2 is launching on October 12th. The HD2 was previously known as the HTC Leo and is a smartphone running the Windows Phone operating system (Windows Mobile 6.5). The HTC HD2 has a 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen that runs at a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

The HD2 will run the TouchFlo 3D navigation overlay. The information comes from someone who tipped Engadget saying that the O2 intranet site lists the HTC HD2 as having a release date of October 12th. [Read more…]

HTC Touch Diamond 2, HTC Mega and HTC Tachi

Zune HD Spy Video

ZuneHDOver at the recently held GDGT party a Zune HD was on show. The demonstrator strictly said no pictures could be taken although the person who recorded the video still captured it anyway (they did say pictures, not video).

As can be seen in the video after the jump, the interface runs very smoothly. Windows Phone OS will actually be using a very similar style interface when launched soon. [Read more…]

Work begins on Microsoft Surface 2 Tablets

Although the Microsoft Surface tablet hasn’t launched yet, word at the moment hints that Microsoft [MSFT] is already hard at work on the next generation device. This information is really no big surprise as various companies will have a generation or two in design for the coming years.

Although MIcrosoft dismissed this by saying that there are just two versions, the RT and Pro versions, certain job openings say things a little differently.

Microsoft Updates OneNote for iOS and Brings it to the iPad

Microsoft [MSFT] has launched an update for OneNote on iOS devices. Before the latest update (version 1.3) the app had been restricted for use on the iPhone and iPod touch. The new update now brings OneNote to the iPad although the app isn’t universal which means you’ll need to install the iPad version for the iPad, rather than the same version for both devices.

webOS Switching to Open Source

As planned, HP has announced the future of webOS and what the plans are for it. Meg Whitman announced that the underlying code of webOS is being made open-source which means it will reach a large amount of people who can in turn develop the platform as needed.

Initially there were two options that HP considered with the first being to sell the OS and the second to make it open-source. The latter was selected and is perhaps the best option.

iOS 5 Panorama Camera Mode Can Be Activated Without Jailbreaking

A couple of days ago a feature was found in iOS 5 that revealed the camera app has a deactivated panorama mode built in. Apple has chosen to simply switch it off so that the option is not available. We don’t know the reason for this other than it probably isn’t a finished feature yet which will be activated at a later date when Apple have tidied it up a little.

Free 5GB Dropbox for new HTC Users

HTC and Dropbox have created a partnership which will see new HTC smartphone users getting a free Dropbox account with 5GB of storage. Normal Dropbox accounts come with 2GB of storage which makes this quite an interesting deal.

Multitasking on the iPad Concept Video Released

We often come across iPad and iPhone concept ideas. Normally they relate to something that is unreleased such as the hardware or some software feature that isn’t available. Today, the concept we came across was for a spruced up version of multitasking on the Apple iPad. The regular multitasking on the iPad happens when you double tap the home button and a bar scrolls up from the bottom of the screen to reveal which apps are still in use. You can then scroll to the right to find the app you want to carry on with or tap elsewhere to close it out. This new version is a little different.

LG PenTouch Touch Screen Plasma Announced

LG has announced a new range of TVs called the LG PenTouch. This new range of Plasma screens lets users interact with it by using a special stylus. The idea behind it is that users can browse the internet or draw right on the screen if needed. As well as browsing the web, it also gives the ability to interact with what is on the screen.
