LG Quantum Windows Phone 7 QWERTY Slider Announced on AT&T

LG has announced that the LG Quantum is now available direct from AT&T. The Quantum runs the new Windows Phone 7 operating system and has a 3.5 inch screen and a QWERTY slideout keyboard.

Windows Phone 7 Jailbreak Coming Soon

Windows Phone 7 was only just launched within the last few weeks. We now hear that a jailbreak is being prepared for the device and that it should be coming soon.

Jailbreakers of Windows Phone 7 have already managed to get root access to the new operating system and have also managed to install apps and gain access to the file system. Right now it appears that they will just polish up the code a little in preparation for launch. [Read more…]

Verizon “Excited” for Windows Phone 7 Launch

Verizon [VZ] has yet to get any Windows Phone 7 handsets to put on sale. One Twitter user decided to ask when they (Verizon), were getting Windows Phone 7 devices. Windows Phone 7 Stock Shortages to be Resolved Soon

Just yesterday, analysts indicated that Microsoft had only shifted 40,000 Windows Phone 7 smartphones at launch. At that point, we were left wondering if this was due to lack of interest or shortages.

Namco has announced several classic games that will be arriving on the Windows Phone 7 platform. Games include Flight Control, More Brain Exercise, I Love Katamari, PAC-MAN and Puzzle Quest 2.

Only 40,000 Windows Phone 7 Devices Sold on US Launch Day

Early reports from analysts indicate that Microsoft [MSFT] only managed to shift 40,000 Windows Phone 7 smartphones on the US launch a few days ago. Microsoft has not commented on the numbers yet. If analysts are correct (which they not always are), this would put sales far behind those of the iPhone and Android based smartphones.

Analysts also hint that some problems could be related to a choice of too many smartphones. Four were available on launch day with even more being launched over the next few weeks. Also, there were some stocking issues from what we understand with the HTC HD7 being out of stock in many places as well as shortages of the Dell Venue Pro. [Read more…]

Google Search App for Windows Phone 7 Launches

Google [GOOG] has launched a new app for Windows Phone 7 called Google Search. The new app allows you to get quick access to Google search allowing you to hunt through the web, images, local, news and other various options.

Although you could technically just open up the mobile browser to search, using the app helps you get there a little quicker as it can be pinned to Start and accessed with one click. [Read more…]

Windows Phone 7 Copy and Paste Could Arrive Within Weeks

One of the functions lacking in Windows Phone 7 is the ability to copy and paste text between apps. This could be changing soon though as Arpan Shah of Microsoft [MSFT] said in a blog post…

Critics have commented on the lack of specific features like copy & paste and lack of 100s of thousands of applications. And while both are true, copy & paste will be available as an update in a matter of weeks (early 2011) and as for applications, it’s just a matter of time.

Amazon Kindle for Windows Phone 7 Announced

Amazon has announced that Kindle for Windows Phone 7 will be launching soon. Not much, if anything at all, is different to other versions on other platforms. Release dates have not been provided yet other than the announcement says it will arrive sometime this year.

Adobe Flash 10.1 to Land on Windows Phone 7 Devices

Right now there is no word on Adobe Air 2.5 landing on Windows Phone 7 devices. However, we have heard that Adobe Flash 10.1 will be landing on Windows Phone 7 on all future versions of the phone. The information comes from this section of text found in the Adobe Air 2.5 press release that went out earlier today.

With Flash Player 10.1 available on Android and Google TV today, BlackBerry platform, webOS, future versions of Windows® Phone, LiMo, MeeGo,and Symbian OS are also expected to support Flash Player 10.1
