Dell Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 Announced

Just a couple of days ago, Microsoft [MSFT] officially launched Windows Phone 7. The new operating system was also listed along side 9 smartphones that would be launching in various parts of the world.

The Dell Venue Pro is one of those devices. It features a slide down QWERTY keyboard. This particular phone was originally spotted as the Dell Lightning, but for various reasons, switched to being called the Venue Pro at launch.

The Venue Pro has a large 4.1 inch AMOLED display. On the back a 5 megapixel camera can be found. Inside, it runs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. [Read more…]

Back in the day you may well remember such television ads ‘stating’ (used loosely) the main differences between a Mac and PC and why you should buy one over the other, this went on for literally years. Windows Phone 7 to get Copy and Paste in Early 2011

Over at the Windows Phone 7 launch event in the UK, an interesting bit of information was provided that indicated Copy and Paste was coming to Windows Phone 7 in early 2011.

Microsoft Announces Windows Phone 7 Global Portfolio

Today, Microsoft [MSFT] officially unveiled Windows Phone 7 for launch. Information at launch reveals that nine new Windows Phone 7 smartphones will be launching over the next few weeks with Europe and Asia launching on October 21 and US launches being held on November 8.

Launch details also indicate that over 60 mobile operators will be selling the new smartphones in over 30 countries around the globe.

Over the next month or so, devices from Dell, HTC, LG and Samsung will arrive with even more devices arriving over the next few months in to early 2011 and beyond. [Read more…]

Samsung Focus Windows Phone 7 Announced

The Samsung Focus was announced today. The Focus is a new Windows Phone 7 device that has a price tag of $199.99 and will launch sometime in the middle of November.

The Focus has a 4 inch screen and uses Samsungs Super AMOLED display technology to create a crystal clear screen. A smudge and scratch resistant coating has been covered over the screen to prevent damage to the device. This in turn, keeps the Focus’ screen clear from damage. [Read more…]

LG Quantum Windows Phone 7 Announced

Today at the Windows Phone 7 launch event, AT&T [T] announced three new Windows Phone 7 devices. The first of these is the LG Quantum. The Quantum will be the first Windows Phone 7 to launch in the US on the AT&T network. The launch date is November 8 and it will come with a price tag of $199.99. Outside of the US, the LG Quantum will be called the Optimus 7Q.

The device its self has a slide out QWERTY keyboard. It has a 5 megapixel on the back. The new Windows Phone 7 device has DLNA integrated allowing content to be streamed over networks if needed. The screen on the Quantum measures 3.5 inches and is in a WVGA format. For storage it has 16GB and it runs the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon core. [Read more…]

LG Optimus 7 Windows Phone 7 Outed Early – Yanked from LG Site

LG looks to have accidentally published details on the upcoming LG Optimus 7. The Optimus 7 is another Windows Phone 7 device. The problem here though is that Windows Phone 7 isn’t being officially announced till later today. Since publishing the post online, the LG blog has removed the post (cached page here).

Details about the device show that it has a 3.8 inch WVGA screen and a 5 megapixel camera. For storage it has 16GB on-board. [Read more…]

Windows Phone 7 Release Date Could be October 21 in UK

Some leaked documents of a UK carriers roadmap reveal that October 21 is the release date for Windows Phone 7.

The actual phone appears to be called the Windows 7Phone and has a launch date of 21st Oct according to the document. It is listed in between the Samsung Europa and a BlackBerry device. A few technical specs have been revealed showing that this particular device will have a 4 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, a 5 megapixel camera as well as access to over 2000 apps at launch in the Windows Marketplace. Windows Phone 7 Press Event in NYC to Get Steve Ballmer Keynote

As well as launching Windows Phone 7 in London on October 11, NYC will also have an event the same day where the new smartphone OS will be launched.

This part isn’t new news as we already heard it earlier today. What we learn now though is that Steve Ballmer and Ralph de la Vega of AT&T will be attending the NYC meeting.

Steve Ballmer will be the keynote speaker that day and we’ll also hear a few things from Ralph de la Vega who will kick off the meeting starting at 9am. [Read more…]

Windows Phone 6 gets Spotify – WP7 Version Coming Soon

For those of you who use Windows Phone 6 (WM6 we should say), you are now able to download and use Spotify on your smartphone.

The usual features are available such as streaming over 2.5/3G networks as well as downloading music for offline listening.

As well as launching a version of Spotify for Windows Mobile 6.5, we also hear a new version is in the works ready for when Windows Phone 7 is launched. [Read more…]

Windows Phone 7 Launch Date – October 11

Windows Phone 7 will launch on October 11. Previously we heard that an event in London would be held. We also now hear that an event is being held in New York and that T-Mobile in NYC will be the star of the show, so to speak.

This information uncovers some interesting information such as T-Mobile introducing devices. Until now it was believed that AT&T would be the exclusive launch partner, but this seems to confirm that T-Mobile will be available too on or soon after launch.

Also it was believed that just a London event was being held, but now we see that the US will also see the handsets on the same day. Perhaps other countries will also roll out that day. [Read more…]
