Just a few moments ago we wrote about a new HD Sony Camcorder that was being worked on that featured an interchangeable lens system. The only details we had about the camcorder was that it used an Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor found in the NEX-3 and NEX-5.
This camera here is the NEX-3 that has that same sensor. The device features a 14.2 megapixel sensor and also uses the Sony E Series lens mount. On the back is a 7.5cm LCD screen. ISO sensitivity on the EVIL NEX-3 ranges from 200 to 12,800.
The camera is quite small measuring 117.2mm by 62.6mm by 33.4mm and weighs just 297 grams. Capabilities of the camera include the ability to capture HD video at a resolution of 720p at 30 frames per second.
On the downside, we had previously heard that this camera was to feature a touchscreen, but we not hear it does not. This could be a feature reserved for the EVIL NEX-5 model though.
We expect that Sony will release some official details very soon on this camera as they have already made mention of the NEX-3 and NEX-5 earlier today on the camcorder post they did. We also hear from photo rumors that the announcement could be as early as today.
