This morning we wrote about the Sony NEX-3 that was spotted due to an announcement about a Sony HD Camcorder being launched late this fall. We now have the official specs for the Sony NEX-3 and the Sony NEX-5.
Each camera is similar in terms of technical specs. Both have a 14.2 megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor to capture images. Each camera uses a BIONZ image processor. Each has an ISO range of 200 – 12,800.
Differences between the cameras give the NEX-5 the edge over the NEX-3 in terms of the NEX-5 being capable of capturing video at 1080i HD whereas the NEX-3 captures video at 720p.

One thing to note here is that the 3D capability will not be available at launch, but will join the cameras when new firmware is provided in the summer.
