Springteq WeGo Heads Up Display Navigation Revealed

Springteq has created a new navigation system called the WeGo HUD Navigator. The device is capable of created a heads up display on the windscreen of a car and provide driving directions to the driver. The HUD readout is presented about 3.3 feet away from the driver.

The advantages of HUDs are obvious. They provide drivers with valuable information without having to take their eyes off the road. The WeGo also allows drivers to operate the device without having to take their hands off the wheel thanks to a RF-based wireless remote control that attaches to the steering wheel.

The device works with a unit that sits on the dashboard of a car. The image projected is 4.5 inches in size and has a 400 x 240 resolution. The brightness is rated at 13,000 cd/m2 which according to the creators (Springteq) is enough for it to also be visible through the day. A sensor is used on the device to detect ambient light and adjust the brightness settings making it more comfortable and less distracting to use.

A heads up display is handy to have as it lets you keep your eye on the road whilst quickly checking directions. Technical specs show that this is a Microsoft Windows CE device that has 2GB of memory built in that can be further expanded through SD and SDHC cards.

Pricing and availability are being made known at a later date although we should see these units in stores before Christmas.
