A report today hints that when the iPhone 5 launches on the Sprint network, an unlimited data plan will be made available for it. If this is correct then this gives buyers a good reason to purchase the smartphone on the Sprint network. If you compare with the current iPhone 4 providers both AT&T and Verizon do not offer unlimited anymore.
The report comes from a reputable news site, Bloomberg, which writes the following:
Sprint, the third-largest U.S. wireless carrier, plans to begin selling the device in mid-October under a deal with Apple for the next model, the iPhone 5, said the people, who wouldn’t be identified because the plans aren’t public. Becoming the country’s only operator to offer the device with unlimited data service for a flat fee may help Sprint draw customers from AT&T and Verizon Wireless, which already carry the phone, they said.
It isn’t known how long Sprint will offer unlimited for as they are yet to get the iPhone on the network. The tune could quickly change if suddenly the Sprint network gets overrun with data. We’ll need to see what happens there, but for now it seems like Sprint could be a good option for those who are data hungry.
