Radio Shack in the US has announced that the T-Mobile G2 will cost $150 when purchased with a two year agreement. This makes it $50 cheaper than getting it at Best Buy who have it ready for pre-order at $199.99, also with a two year agreement.
The information comes from the Twitter account of RadioShack. The tweet says…
The T-Mobile G2 with Google is coming to @RadioShack. Only $149.99 with 2-yr agreement (instant rebate!). Stay tuned for info.
Before making any pre-orders you might want to consider waiting for T-Mobile to reveal what they will be selling it at. We don’t expect it to go cheaper than $149.99, but perhaps they might offer some package that’s a little more competitive.
In regards to the T-Mobile G2, the device is launching early in October. It’s the next step up from the original T-Mobile G1 and comes with a faster processor, HSPA+ connection speeds as well as more RAM. Overall it’s a decent looking smartphone that we expect will do well when it launches. As for the operating system running on the G2, it will be launching with the latest Android which is version 2.2.
Let us know what you think of the G2. Does it have enough specs and features to tackle other Android based smartphones such as the Droid X or Droid 2?
