Some leaked shots of the Toshiba SmartPad tablet have been leaked online. The images show what is believed to be a new tablet being launched by Toshiba in the next few months.
The images were found by NotebookItalia and are similar in looks to what was briefly seen in July of this year. The name of SmartPad is believed to be the official name of the new Toshiba Tablet.
It isn’t clear when Toshiba will unveil the new tablet although we could see it at IFA in a few weeks time.
In regards to the technical specs, the SmartPad looks to have a 10 inch screen, run Android and be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. Although the tablet does look to have Android style buttons on the right bezel, we also hear that a Windows 7 version could be launching although this similar model could be called the Toshiba Slate.
Plenty of ports are expected to be available on the device which could include a 3.5mm audio jack, HDMI, USB, mini USB as well as a memory card reader. A small flap on the side covers many of these ports.
Webcams are also expected on the front and rear of the device.
As for a launch date, we have heard October 2010 previously although I’d be surprised if it does launch.
